Passbooks

We decided to delay the project’s mint until after the Ethereum switch to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) to ensure our desired interaction system could be delivered via the Ethereum blockchain, rather than a switch to alternative solutions like Solana or Polygon.

Although this area will require a lot of testing, we strongly believe in its impact for holders. The following provides an overview of our aims and thinking.

Persistent Identity

As we move further forward, we are developing plans for 'passbooks’ to be made available to holders. Passbooks, as we envision them, would live on-chain and enable holders to accrue digital souvenirs, mementoes and credentials to take with you in your wallet across Web3 and beyond. For example, we could issue stamps (e.g. issued via POAPs) to holders to mark their interactions with, and/or participation in, well-being experiences, or other tokens that represent achievements. Since these stamps and tokens can be connected to the Cozies NFT holder's passbook, they help to build a persistent, growing identity and reputation for holders. These will mark an individual's well-being journey and help you to build a unique on-chain identity.

We believe that soulbound tokens (non-transferable NFTs also referred to as 'SBTs') can be used to implement this vision, forming a permanent reference point for information unique to a specific wallet, effectively creating a unique on-chain identity.

In this way, Cozies owners can grow their personal brands by accruing persistent and non-transferable credentials to enable networks of trust and validation, and earn rewards for completing wellbeing tasks, participating in or joining immersive experiences or even community participation. The possibilities are endless.

Decentralized Identifiers

Why is the above important? Because it's not just about collecting. We want Cozies passbooks to act as digital keys, as sign-in passes built to access exclusive and unique features across Web3, Web2, and real-life events and organisations. As Cozies holders accrue stamps and accreditations over time, they will be able to access more and more of the experiences we create and the partnerships that we build.

In this way, Cozies becomes your well-being badge and identity for application and use far beyond the Cozies project alone.

Further, since decentralized identifiers (DIDs) are controlled and owned by the individual, holders can use them as part of their desired level of separated identities, personas and interactions. We hope this vision helps Cozies holders to fit into the wider Web3 ecosystem and create social bonds that further secure their identities and reduce over-exposure to the problems of Web3 security.
